Welcome to the 2021 rugby season!

We are looking forward to a great season for our under 17/Opens where we will be running a Gordon district based called the Gordon Barbarians – “Baa Baas”. We have a great harlequin-style jersey ready to go and will play in the SJRU Sunday Competition.

We already have great interest from returning players from Lindfield, Chatswood, Lane Cove and Wahroonga. We understand that players will have school and other commitments and that is why we are looking to have a big squad, with a focus on having fun and playing good rugby with mates. So even if you can’t play every week we would love for you to be involved.

The good news is that Nick Brown has agreed to coach the Baa Baas in 2021. Nick Brown or Brownie has coached our rep team for the past two years (2018 and 2019) and is currently also coaching Gordon Second Grade Colts. Sam McDonald, Plex, Andrew Lennon and other legends have offered to help out too. Please let us know if you would like to help out coaching or managing. We also plan to train with Gordon and Lindfield Colts, we will listen to what the player group wants and design a program that suits.

Gordon Juniors will also be entering a side in this year’s state championship in June (June long weekend). Under the grandfathering rule if you played rugby in 2020 (at least four games) and you are playing Opens Rugby at School, you don’t need to play club in 2021 to qualify for the Gordon Representative Clubs

We will be getting the players together this Sunday 21 February 9.30am Tryon # 2 Oval Lindfield for a chat about the program and game of touch. All welcome, so please spread the word.

1. Have your Active Kids $100 Voucher with you (this cannot be applied after registration). Visit: https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/active-kids to get your voucher.
2. Have an up-to-date photo of your child (head and shoulders only, NO caps/hats)
3. Make sure you have linked all your children to your profile
4. Go to https://myaccount.rugby.com.au to register.

Some helpful tips:
Player Profile – Please make your child’s profile ‘public’. Select “NO” when you get to this section. This profile is used for the team sheet and the opposition manager must be able to view the names and photos.
Photos – Please upload an up-to-date photo at the time of registration. Please remember no hat or caps and the photo is to be head and shoulders only.
